For my first story, I want to write about the upcoming Last Lecture Series on the history of fraternity masculinity. These talks occur once a semester and Dr. Mir Yarfitz will be leading this one on Wednesday the 25th. As a member of a fraternity on campus, I have first hand seen how greek life has been scrutinized and has changed heavily over the years. Specifically at Wake Forest, fraternities have been getting in trouble constantly and have not always been looked at in the best light. I think I will provide a unique perspective on the talk from my experience of seeing my fraternity do bad things and unbelievable things in a way that not of people can do. This is a controversial topic, and I am curious to see if Dr. Mir Yarfitz talks about how he perceives fraternities today or if he just talks about their history.
