I have chosen Lisa Friedman as the reporter that I’ll follow for this class. Friedman is a writer at the climate desk and writes frequently about environmental policy. She’s covered multiple international climate talks and has previous work experience with climate writing before coming to the Times. I chose Friedman because I too am interested in climate and policy writing. I want to learn what good environmental reporting looks like outside of the realm of conservation advocacy. Additionally, I like the fact that Friedman chooses to focus on policy.
