Ulysse, Emily Badger

New York Times Reporter: Emily Badger

Emily is a writer mainly covering urban policy, specifically on The Upshot at the New York times.  While she covers urban policy, she also specializes in writing about the intersection between housing, transportation, and inequality. She also heavily discusses how technology has the power and ability to change the way  we move around cities. Her hometown of Chicago, IL allowed her to learn to think about inequality, public transportation, and the inequality marginalized groups faced. She has a bachelor’s in journalism from Northwestern University, and a master’s in nonfiction writing from Johns Hopkins University.

I chose Emily Badger because she covers topics that I would be interested in writing about if I were to pursue a career in journalism.  Her articles are captivating in the connections she makes with inequality and its consequences.
