News Hook: When Fashion takes a step back in history when will enough be enough?
The fashion company Burberry displays a noose-hoodie during London Fashion Week 2019.
Recently reported in the Wake Forest Community, a white student is found dressed in a cowboy outfit with, what appeared to be, a noose on his body/neck and shoulders. A Bias Incident Report (BIR) has been filed. The Chief of Diversity Officer, Jose Villalba, concluded that the student identified the rope to be a lasso wrapped around him.
In general, what does the student-body think about these racial fashion trends and how it affects campus life?
Potential Sources: Black students on campus in the Black Student Alliance (BSA) and a part of the Intercultural Center (IC). Also, people who are not of color in the Wake Forest Community.
