Story 5

I would like to do a piece on someone and tell a story through it. Not sure who I want to use yet. Profiling is the thing I am going to do.

Story 4

At first, I wanted to do me Q&A with Riley Skinner, but he was not available so I am going to do it with John Wofford. He was a former QB at Wake Forest and is now trying to play in the NFL. I will talk to his former coaches and teammates to prepare for my interview with him.

Story 3 Idea

For Story 3 I was thinking of reporting on the process of how Wake can help their students develop a career opportunity in sustainability and all the resources that come with that.

Story 2- Hartman

The news around the significance of the Confederate flag.

New hook- just this past week a photo was found where the  Dean of Admissions possed in front of a Confederate Flag. During the Deans List Gala people dropped photos from the top floor of the Dean and calling the action of her to resign.

Sources- students, anyone that knows her on a personal level.

New York Times reporter -Hartman

Marc Tracy has been recently covering a lot of college basketball, from the recent arguments of changing the age players can be drafted to the NBA or the protest of the national anthem by Ole Miss basketball players. Tracy uses an excellent nutgraf in the article below about the college basketball phenom Zion Williamson. Tracy pulled information from an outside source about an NFL player who left early from college football to go pro because of the fear of injuries. Tracy uses a great range of quotes from many reliable sources that give his article credibility. “It’s a legitimate question,” said Ramogi Huma, the founder, and president of the College Athletes Players Association, an advocate for players’ rights. This example shows his use of someone who people will see has a background that makes his words valuable.

Story !1

I am thinking about reporting on the first baseball game this Friday. Also, I am looking at the 185th Birthday Bash, which could be a great event to get interviews.

Hartman Marc Tracy

I picked Marc Tracy, who started his work at The New York Times in 2014 covering college sports. He covers the top stories across college athletics, which is the career path that I desire to pursue after college. A lot of stories deal with college football and the different dynamics of the game. The article below is about Wake Forest football team and the leak that occurred a few seasons ago.
